Craig Kerrecoe was born in 1971 and enjoyed a successful career as an award-winning Building Designer, owning and managing an architectural practice until 2004, when he took an unexpected opportunity to leave the industry. He has been painting ever since.
His first exhibition opportunity came along in 2005 with a solo exhibition of 'The Code' series at Needhams Restaurant in Cambridgeshire. 'The Code' series gave Craig his first competition success when 'Dance With Me' from the series was selected as a finalist in the 6th South Holland Open Arts Competition in Lincolnshire. The painting was featured in an exhibition in Spalding at the end of that year.
2006 got off to a flying start for Craig, with a contribution to the first group exhibition of new and emerging artists at Needhams Restaurant. This was quickly followed by a solo exhibition, by invitation, of his 'Same World, Different Day' series of semi-abstract landscapes at Blackfriars Arts Centre in Boston, Lincolnshire and a further contribution to a group exhibition at the venue in the Spring.
'The Code' series continues to bring Craig competition success. 'Dance With Me' received a Commendation from the judges in the SAA Artist Of The Year 2006 competition.
