"I have been drawing and painting ever since I could hold a pencil. I never thought about doing it professionally until I got so caught up in other studies that I started craving the smell of paint and a piece of paper to sketch on. I found a studio shortly after, and have never looked back.
My figurative life studies capture the feeling and mood of the model. I prefer anonymity in the characters, attempting to capture the essence through form and relying on suggestion and ambiguity. I like to use fluid media, such as pen and ink and watercolour, which create a delicate movement to the works. I paint using acrylics, but tend to mix them like watercolour so I can build up layers and washes to create depth."
